Dr Bayo Adekanmbi at the official announcement of the partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria & Google.Org

We are excited to lead the charge in advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) talent development in Nigeria through skill-building and education, as the implementing partner in a strategic collaboration between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Google.

This impactful initiative was launched by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, in partnership with Google.org, where Google’s leadership team, led by Matt Brittin, President of Google East Africa, Europe, and Africa, to support Dr. Tijani’s mission of equipping Nigeria’s youth, as well as the underemployed and unemployed, with essential AI skills.

This Google-supported grant focuses on advancing AI literacy and establishing a dynamic talent pipeline through DSN’s DeepTech Ready Upskilling Programme, which operates within the government’s ongoing Three Million Technical Talents (3MTT) framework. The programme aims to deliver specialized training in data science and AI to 20,000 Nigerian youths, preparing them for careers in high-demand fields.

This collaboration aligns with DSN’s goal of empowering 1 million AI talents and improving the lives of 2 billion people in emerging markets.
