DSNai and 30,000 African startups stormed Marrakesh for GITEX Africa, the biggest Africa’s biggest tech and startup show that brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts from around the globe.

The event featured 1,400 tech leaders from across Africa, displaying groundbreaking innovations driving the continent’s digital transformation.

Main Event

Day 1: A High-Profile Visit and a Dive into Generative AI

The first day of GITEX Africa saw our exhibition stand visited by prominent figures, including the Minister of Health for State and the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). Their interest and engagement underscored the significance of our work and provided a great start to the event.

In a major highlight of the day, the Minister of Health announced the forthcoming GITEX Nigeria, marking a significant step in expanding the reach and impact of GITEX across the continent.

Adding to the excitement, our CEO, Dr. Olubayo Adekanmbi, facilitated an insightful session on Generative AI for a group of PhD students. Her expertise and passion for AI ignited lively discussions and deepened the participants’ understanding of this transformative technology.

Day 2: Expert Panels and AI for Water Sustainability

The second day continued with compelling sessions and discussions. Dr. Bayo Adekanmbi contributed as a panelist in a session focused on AI. His insights into the current trends and future possibilities of AI captivated the audience and spurred thought-provoking conversations.

The team did not just showcase our products but also attended sessions that helped develop their knowledge, sessions like the AI for Water Sustainability Challenge, which showcased innovative solutions aimed at addressing water scarcity issues. The challenge highlighted the critical role of AI in solving some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Day 3: Engaging with Participants and Showcasing AfroLLM

Throughout the event, our stand attracted significant interest from participants. Many were particularly keen on our AfroLLM solution and the language data we are collecting, with a special focus on Moroccan Arabic. The enthusiastic feedback and inquiries reinforced the importance of our mission to create inclusive and comprehensive AI solutions tailored to African languages and contexts.
